I was never a fan of exercise and often felt intimated going to a gym. My diabetes educator recommended that I start exercising to help control my type 2 diabetes. That is when I was referred to Ben at Maximise Movement Exercise Physiologists. Ben was very welcoming and make me feel comfortable from the beginning, which helped my anxiety about the whole situation greatly. After our initial meeting and assessment I told Ben how I really didn’t like gyms. This was when I was very surprised as he told me that we can meet at my house or a park, basically anywhere that I felt more comfortable. Since that day I have been seeing Ben 3 days a week and haven’t missed a session. I have lost 15kg and have much better control over my diabetes. However I think most surprisingly I now actually enjoy exercise and look forward to our sessions each week.
